Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 14 July 2026
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the PDF Toolbox website and tools (the "Service") provided by PDF Toolbox, operated as PDF Toolbox ("PDF Toolbox", "we", "us" or "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. The Service
pdfedtar provides browser-based tools to merge, split, organize, compress, convert, sign, edit, annotate, redact and otherwise work with PDF and image files. Free tools are available to everyone. Additional "PRO" tools are available with a paid subscription. All document processing takes place locally in your browser; we do not receive your files.
2. Eligibility and accounts
- You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to create an account.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information and for keeping your login credentials confidential.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use.
3. Subscriptions, billing and renewals
- Billing. PRO is offered as a recurring subscription processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorise us, through Stripe, to charge the applicable fees to your chosen payment method.
- Automatic renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price unless cancelled beforehand.
- Cancellation. You may cancel at any time from your account dashboard via the "Manage Subscription" (Stripe billing portal) option. Cancellation stops future renewals; you retain PRO access until the end of the current paid period.
- Price changes. We may change subscription prices. Any change applies to future billing periods and we will provide reasonable notice where required by law.
- Taxes. Fees are exclusive of taxes unless stated otherwise; you are responsible for any applicable taxes.
4. Refunds
Except where required by applicable law, subscription fees are non-refundable, and partial billing periods are not refunded on cancellation. If you believe you were charged in error, contact info@pdfedtar.com and we will review your request in good faith.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or to process content you do not have the right to process;
- Attempt to bypass, disable or interfere with security, authentication or subscription controls;
- Reverse engineer, resell, or create derivative commercial services from the Service except as permitted by law;
- Upload malware or attempt to disrupt, overload or gain unauthorised access to the Service or its providers;
- Misuse the Service in a way that infringes the intellectual property or privacy rights of others.
6. Your content
You retain all rights to the files and documents you process. Because processing happens in your browser, we do not claim any ownership of, or access to, your content. You are solely responsible for the legality of the content you process.
7. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, branding and content (excluding your files), is owned by PDFEdtar and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for its intended purpose, subject to these Terms.
8. Third-party services
The Service relies on third-party providers (including Supabase, Stripe and Netlify). Your use of features powered by these providers may also be subject to their terms. We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of third-party providers.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or that output files will meet your requirements. You are responsible for keeping backups of your original files.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, PDFEdtar shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or documents, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
11. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or misuse the Service. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including sections on intellectual property, disclaimers and liability) will survive.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Subject to applicable law, the courts located in India shall have jurisdiction over any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be indicated by updating the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
